The Administration of Aging (AoA) has provided services to millions of older adults through funded programs such as Home and Community Based Long Term Care, Health, Prevention, and Wellness Programs, Elder Rights Protection and other special projects such as global aging. The AoA along with a number of other units are working together under the Administration for Community Living. Their mission is to provide independence, well-being and health to older adults, people with disabilities and their families and caregivers.
The National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) is a funded resource centers of the AoA. The NCEA is dedicated to the prevention of elder abuse and to carry out their mission, they provide imformation to professionals and the public through research, training, practices and interventions, program development and having news and resources available online. They are, "prepared to ensure that older Americans will live with dignity, integrity, independence, and without abuse, neglect, and exploitation."
The Center of Excellence on Elder Abuse and Neglect is part of the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine's Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology. They provide services to abused and neglected seniors of the community and those in long term care facilities. They also offer assistance through direct services, technical assistance, connecting practice and policy, conducting research and providing education. Their mission is to see the world without elder abuse.
